Jaguar XKE Series 1 Original Prints
On its release in 1961, Enzo Ferrari stated that it was the most beautiful car ever made.
Personally, I still believe that statement to be true. I owned a 1963 XKE Coupe originally born Red and resprayed Canary Yellow sometime before my ownership. The car received an abundant amount of parts and labor supplied by me. The next owner found it very presentable, well sorted out and was pleased to purchase. It’s long gone, however, refreshed in my mind in great detail by these illustrations. These XKE painting efforts took over two months to complete before I was pleased. It’s interesting how autos I know intimately, really allows me to be very objective and yet artistically energized when making each paint stroke.
I love the Series one coupe body, maybe just a bit more, because there’s more roof line offered to be enjoyed by the observer. I’ve always believed past E-type lightweights as solid British contenders on international tracks. Six new additional lightweights were just offered several years ago at a £1.5 million each, all sold. You’ll find my offering much more reasonable to manage.
