2015 C7 Corvette with 1963 Corvette – Original Prints
With the C7 the Stingray name was back. At first glance, this fresh stylish coupe would appear simple in shape. However, after studying the body contour lines with quick switchbacks there was a lesson in coefficient dynamics to be observed. What seems like a clean simple shape is, in reality, a challenge of subtle ever transitioning geometry to capture within the drawing and painting process. I chose to include the 1963 Split Window coupe as a tribute to the equally groundbreaking Stingray sharing space on this illustration.
Finding the front nose extremely interesting, I chose to feature it and employ an aggressive painting style, using strong brush strokes of color while adding headlight and background effects to build upon its modern aerodynamics. The bottom Blue Zo6 in 3/4 view with smooth airbrushed panels contrast the painterly graphic style seen above, and its almost blueprint retro feel companion 63 split window coupe. The bottom carbon fiber pattern background is an obvious nod to today’s Zo6 weight-saving technologies. You’ll find this artwork, merit worthy and ready to frame for your space.
