The 2004 Corvette ZO6 Commemorative is powered by a LS 5.7 Liter, 405 HP, injected V8 push rod engine. These hardtop special edition ZO6s also have an exclusive styling package including Le Mans Blue striped paint with Black interior. Commemorative Edition exterior badges note Corvette’s Le Mans titles. Other unique additions were embroidery on the headrests of each seat, special larger wheels and more!
The Corvette C5-R was based on the C5, but had a longer wheelbase, wider track and enlarged 7L with exclusive bodywork and exposed tinted racing headlamps. It was raced in the American Le Mans Series in the GTS Class and has been to four 24 Hours of Le Mans races.
2001 eight victories in ten races, including an overall win in the 24 Hours of Daytona in the GTS class.
2002 the C5-R repeated its one-two win in GTS class at American Le Mans Series.
2003 In C5-Rs won first in class and eighth overall.
2004 Corvette C5-R won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in their class. C5-R finished 1–2. C5 R, No. 64 car finished 16 laps ahead of Ferrari.
2005 C6-R superseded the Corvette C5-R.
2006 The C5-R returned to the French Le Mans for the first time as a non-factory entry, finishing third in the GT1 class.
2007 The C5-R ran at the Le Mans 24 Hour race paired with a C6-R acquired from Corvette Racing.
